Q: 370 vs mustang gt????
i am sick of people saying that the 370z is faster or saying that the mustang gt is faster , i watched alot of youtube videos on these two cars and i keep finding that there is some were the mustang wins by a little and there are some were the 370z wins by a little. most of the time the z wins though. i feel that the 370z and the mustang gt are about the same when it comes to which is faster, i feel that it depends on the driver.
here are some spec:
mustang gt- 4.6L v8 315 hp 325 Torque (more Torque)
370z – 3.7L v6 332hp 270 torque ( more Hp) ( lighter vehicle) (better handing)

the 0-60 times very i have seen both these cars hit 0-60 under 5 seconds and i have seen them both hit0-60 in 5+ seconds , theres no real answer lol
does anyone have any opinion on this?????

A: The 350z with the HR engine (07-08) was just as fast/faster than a 2005-2009 Mustang GT.

In fact, the lowest stock HR quarter mile time (13.15) is faster than any stock s197 Mustang GT has hit.

Also, your torque senerio doesn’t work when you factor in gearing, and is a major reason why the 07+ Z’s are quicker than Mustangs.

Now, the 370z is even better than the 350z was with the HR engine. I think it will only be a matter of time before you see some extremely low 13’s with these cars, or even high 12’s in perfect conditions. Heck, even the 370z with the automatic posted a 13.1 @ 108 by Motortrend.

The Mustang has been behind the Z for 3 years now. However, this all may (and proabably will change) when Ford drops in their 5.0L engine next year.

Q: my first car ? which should i choose?
i’m looking at the 370z, mustang and the eclipse.
please don’t turn this into a muscle vs tuner, this is my first car so i really wanted the z but after some thought i changed my mind and said mustang but i saw the eclipse the other day and thought that will do just fine with basic mods. the only downside is fwd.

i’m 18 and basically i wanted the fastest thing i can afford, but for a first car a eclipse should be more than enough to satisfy my need for speed right ?
money is no problem, and i can afford gas.
