Q: Honda Civic Vs. Nissan Sentra?
I’m looking to get a new car. I’m based out of Toronto so all prices are in Canadian $. The Civic will run me a little over $23 000 and the Sentra a little over $21 000.
The two thousand difference will obviously save me a bit on monthly payments. From what I’ve read and compared, the Sentra is a little bigger inside and engine wise.
A little bigger in the car, a bit bigger in cargo space, engine is 2.0 vs. the civics 1.8. My only concern with the Sentra is that Nissan is using a newer type of transmission (the CVT). Apparently it has its ups and downs and a few mixed reviews.
So with all of this in mind…. help! Any ideas on what I should invest in? If you could justify the answer that would be great. Just writing Sentra or Civic really doesnt help my situation.
Thanks in advance everyone!!
A: Civic. its th best car in its class. sure th Sentra is more smoother and comfy but th Civic is safer and more reliable.

A: Honda is the most reliable car you can buy with the highest resale value too.
Here in the U.S., those cars cost about $18,000-20,000.
After 2 years, the Sentra would cost $12,000 and the Civic would still cost around $16,000.
The Civic also has better interior quality and better handling.
The Sentra is a good car too. But with its poor resale value and higher maintenance costs, buying a Civic would be cheaper in the long run.
Q: Mitsubishi lancer vs Honda Civic vs Nissan Sentra?
which car is better
durability
performance
and comfort
A: If your like in to modifying cars, I’d say Lancer (specifically the Evo) and Civic (Si)…… but if you just want a daily car…… Sentra will work….. Hondas and Mits are much for show and perfromance…. =)
Q: 07 Civic LX vs 07 Sentra SL?
I’m looking to buy one of these cars, have researched a lot, and am still very confused. Civic handles better, and has better interior quality, but is noisy on highways and doesn’t have a remote trunk open. Sentra has more room, lots of cool features, but has average handling, cheap looking/feeling interior, less lumbar support, and body lean due to tall style.
Can someone experienced with these vehicles tell which is a better buy?
A: CIVIC IS BETTER MADE CAR, SO GET AND LATER IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND TRADE IT IN, UNLIKE THE SENTRA IT WILL GET YOU TOP DOLLAR!
Q: Which is better? ( Faster, Mechanically, Accessories, etc) Civic SI vs Sentra SE-R Spec V?
A: Spec -V::
http://www.modernracer.com/nissansentraserspecv.html
Civic SI::
http://www.modernracer.com/hondacivicsi2002.html
I was going to say the Spec V before I looked it up and I was right.
Honda just made so many civics that a lot of people have them, so they have lots of aftermarket parts and they’re pretty easy to work on, but the Sentra’s still going to have a lot of stuff to put on and they are also easy to work on. I don’t know about the SI but the Spec V does have a 6 speed.
All in all, I’d go with the Sentra, it’s faster and gets a little less fuel economy (It also has more horse and torque so that’s why), but with the same bolt ons, the sentra would whoop a civic, would do it stock too. And the only way to get the 160 horse Si Civic is to get the hatchback version, if you get the sedan or coupe it’ll come even slower as it’ll have less torque and horse and be heavier. The sentra is totally the way to go.
P.S. The sentra still has better suspension. Stock.
P.P.S. It’s cheaper too =]
Q: compare these cars, 2008 Honda civic Si vs 2008 Nissan sentra spec V?
both have 6 speed transmissions…which is faster? which is better?
A: The sentra is definately more sport oriented, plus its rwd with a front engine layout while the civic has a fwd ff layout.
The sentra will give you more corner speed as well as transitionaly handleing, and the honda will want to push like a dump truck off power into turns.
I’ll just say this, for gas mialage, get a honda, for speed, handleing, and the ultimate fun factor, get the nissan.
both are decent cars though
Q: 07 Sentra SL vs 07 Civic LX?
I’m looking to buy one of these cars, have researched a lot, and am still very confused. Civic handles better, and has better interior quality, but is noisy on highways and doesn’t have a remote trunk open. Sentra has more room, lots of cool features(intelligent key, bluetooth, leather seats), but has average handling, cheap looking/feeling interior, less lumbar support, and body lean due to tall style.
Can someone experienced with these vehicles tell which is a better buy?
A: Go with the Honda. A better maker of cars overall. Of course it all depends on what is important to you in a car. For example, if a remote trunk opener is something you must have, then the choice becomes more clear.
Q: 01′ Nissan Sentra vs 97′ Honda Civic?
I need some adivce on which car I should buy.
97 Honda civic with 80k miles on it. VS 01′ Nissan sentra with 66k miles on it. The honda has a faded hood and needs a wheel alignment. What do you guys think?
THANKS
Ray K, about coming down on the price he already dropped it about $500. Do you think 500 will cover a new paint job and the wheel alignment problem?
The Sentra is a New York car, and has been in 2 accidents. I just found out through Carfax
A: while Nissans are not bad, I think Honda builds a superior product. Try to get the owner to come down on his price because of the needed repairs.
Q: 2008 Honda Civic Si vs 2008 Nissan Sentra SE-R vspec?
If you had a choice between these two cars, which would you choose and why? I know the Vspec has 200HP and some more torque… I know it also has an Intellikey… But Honda has quality… If you could get either of these cars new, which would you buy and why? Thanks!
A: Not just reliability but overall “Fun to Drive” and as to what the first answerer said….Ditto.
Go to www.8thcivic.com …..that should do plenty to sway your opinion.

Q: Nissan Sentra vs Toyota Corolla vs Honda Civic; which one I should go for ?
A: 1) Honda Civic
2) Mazda 3
3) Toyota Corolla
4) Scion tC
5) Nissan Sentra
Test drive them in that order and pick which one is best for you.
There isn’t a bad choice, but I think you will end up taking the Honda or the Mazda.
Q: which do you think has the best value for money between the 07 nissan sentra vs 07 honda civic?
pls give me advice
A: i own a repair shop, and from what i have seen here lately id have to go with the sentra, they seem to be dong really well ,and not giving any problems right now,and i think the quality of them is a lot better than the Honda is right now,Honda,s is a good car but people talk about them like there the best car ever built, and there not,if wasn’t for them sometimes i would have a lot of slow weeks, they will tear up like any other car on the road will, good luck i hope this help,s.
Q: honda civic ex (2000)Vs Nissan Sentra spec v (2003)???
how would win and why?
A: the spec v it has more hp and torque
plus it had a 6 speed tranny and lsd
Q: Nissan Sentra SE-R vs Honda Civic Si?
What is the 0-60 time of a Nissan Sentra SE-R automatic, NOT the Spec V. Also which would you recommend for a daily driver with no racing involved?
A: Although I like both cars, I would choose the Civic Si in a heartbeat over the SE-R for a daily driver. That is just based on how i think the cars look and feel. Both will be reliable, the HOnda might be a little better on reliabilty. Both are good cars that are somewhat peppy.
I believe the Sentra SE-R (non spec V) model goes from 0-60mph in about 7.5 seconds. This varies between years and depending on tranny type.
The 2008 Honda Civic Si goes from 0-60mph in 6.7 seconds.
But you should definitely test drive both vehicles, there may be something about 1 of them that you really either love or hate, and that might make your decision for you.
Q: sentra se-r spec-v vs civic si 2007?
A: slow and dangerous
Q: Why doesn’t Honda make a Civic Si in automatic to compete with: http://www.nissanusa.com/se-r/index.html?
Honda Civic Si vs. Nissan Sentra Se-R
Civic Si- no automatic/ Sentra Se-R- manual & automatic
Sports/Race cars
Sentra Se-R manual- 200 hp/ automatic- 177 hp
Regular Sentra- 140 hp
Civic Si manual- 198 hp/ automatic- ???
Regular Civic- 140 hp
An automatic Civic Si makes sense, please develop for 2009.
A: You should be tied to a tree and whipped 3 times with a razor strap for even suggesting that. You compare it to a car that is NOTORIOUS for problems. The Sentra SE-R is GARBAGE, ask anyone that has owned one for more than a few years. You also notice there is a 23 HP differential between the automatic and manual right? Well thats the SAME TRIM model the Civic you are comparing it to is the EX model and is about $7000 LESS than the SI. Automatics are and should be installed on basic model cars, NOT sports cars. I think that ANY sports car, ( corvettes, lamboghinis, race package cars like the SE-R, SI,) should ONLY come in manual, if you can’t drive one, then you don’t need a “sports car”.
